About Department

The Department of Sociology established in 2017 has been offering Post graduation in Sociology. The semester system (Choice Based Credit System) has been introduced in M.A Sociology. The University is going to commence M.Phil/Ph.D. in Sociology from the next academic session i.e. June, 2018. The admission to M.Phil/Ph.D will be based on Entrance Test. The research scholars who crack the Entrance Test will be asked to give presentation before Research Development committee. The objective for masters and research degrees are to prepare students for further development of society to nation. Efforts have been made for the students’ job placement in various sectors i.e. Research and Training Institutes, Government and Non-Government Organizations, Human Resources Segments of commercial sectors, Educational Institutes etc.

The development of departmental library is under process which has planned to equip with good number of books and journals. Department has been arranging expert lectures, seminars, workshops, career guidance on regular intervals for students, researchers and teachers. With the help of technologically enabled classes, the department teachers develop e-video library having various documentaries on social issues. All the faculty members are well acclaimed for their contribution in the field of academia. Eminent professors, motivational lecturers are also visiting the department time by time.
