About Department

The Department of Commerce and Management, established in 2018, currently offers two years Master of Commerce (M. Com.) Degree, a postgraduate programme in Commerce discipline. One of the core departments of Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University, Junagadh, primarily aims at imparting quality education, enhancing employability, supporting to commerce and industry, and enriching research and extension. At the initial stage, the department will focus only on Commerce education.

The department is planning to offer specialization in postgraduate course in five subjects, viz., (1) Accountancy, (2) Banking and Finance, (3) Human Resource Management, (4) Marketing Management and (5) Statistics. The department will also offer the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) Programme and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) in the field of Commerce and Management. The programmes are designed in such a manner to bring out and nurture the leadership, learning, administrative, research and organizing skills of the future managers, administrators and academicians. The Department is committed to act as catalyst, facilitator, and motivator for the students through functional efforts, which can significantly contribute to national building and better service to society. Emphasizing on quality education, continuous counseling, and character building efforts , the department firmly aspires to make notable contribution in various missions of the Narendra Modi-led Governement, like (1) Skill India Mission (2) Digital India (3) Ease of Doing Business in India and (4) Make in India.

The department, fully equipped with the requite staff and physical resources, is striving hard to make the department a wonderful place to build career and pursue quality life. Besides regular teaching and evaluation tasks, the department focuses on additional guidance and counseling to equip and enable the students to stand in a competitive situation and exploit better career opportunities, within and outside India. The department promises to do everything necessary for the benefits of students and the society at large.
